The Art of Arabic Calligraphy Techniques in Designing a Painting

Alexandria — As part of the BA’s interest in different arts and sciences which enrich humanity, and its efforts to revive the ancient Library of Alexandria, the BA Calligraphy Center aims at studying writings and calligraphy throughout the world over the ages to date. The center is also interested in the aesthetics and techniques of Arabic calligraphy as an art and a reflection of the artistic force of a calligrapher. In this context and as part of the cultural lectures series, the center will organize on Wednesday, 12 July 2006 a workshop on The Art of Arabic Calligraphy Techniques in Designing a Painting by Khalifa EL-Sheemy. In his research work, Khalifa El-Sheemy focuses on the ability of the calligrapher to create new artistic patterns in Arabic calligraphy. He is also distinguished by his inclination to creativity and innovation in Arabic calligraphy.
