The BA Commemorates Lawrence Durrell's Justine

Alexandria— The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex-Med), in cooperation with the British Council, is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the publication of Justine, a novel by Lawrence Durrell (1912-1990) and the first book of the Alexandria Quartet on 29-30 November 2007 at the BA.

The event will involve lectures on Durrell’s life and work in Alexandria, readings by renowned contemporary writers, a walking tour of the city, a viewing of a Justine feature film and a roundtable discussion concerning the preservation of Lawrence Durrell’s house, Villa Ambron.
