Science Becomes Yours! in a Festivity at the BA

The BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC) is organizing on 23 -25 April, 2008, a local science festival, entitled “Science Festivity, When Science Becomes Yours!”. Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, General Adel Labib, Governor of Alexandria, Dr. Yousry El Gamal, Minister of Education, along with other distinguished figures in the education field will participate in the Festivity.
Engineer Hoda El Mikaty, Head of the BA PSC, stated that the Festivity is held for the second year under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, to raise awareness and understanding of science among the general public and students, through promoting the role of informal science learning.
Engineer Hoda El Mikaty added that this year’s Science Festivity promises audiences entertainment wrapped with surprising knowledge and includes various scientific simple and fun activities which are suitable for all ages and different cultural levels. The Festivity will include a science village composed of small booths to display experiments, presentations, and scientific research provided by various schools and authorities at the BA Plaza, 23 and 24 April, 2008, and at Antoniadis Gardens on 25 April, 2008.
She pointed out that Festivity will also include scientific movies, seminars and super science show. Several cultural institutions will participate in the Festivity, including: French Cultural Center of Alexandria, the British Council, L’Atelier d’Alexandrie, and Goethe Institute. It is the target of the PSC to transform the Science Festivity into a National Festival within the coming years.
