The BA Intends to Transform the Science Festivity into a National Festival all Over Egypt

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, inaugurated on Wednesday, 23 April 2008, the Science Festivity which is organized by the BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC), 23 -25 April 2008, at the BA. The opening was attended by those involved in the development of education and dissemination of knowledge, directors of cultural centers, and consuls from foreign countries in Alexandria.
The Festivity includes various scientific simple and fun activities suitable for all ages and different cultural levels, in addition to a science village composed of small booths to display experiments, presentations, and scientific research provided by various schools and authorities at the BA Plaza, 23 and 24 April, 2008, and at Antoniadis Gardens on 25 April, 2008.
In his opening speech, Dr. Serageldin stated that science means communication between generations, pointing out that children are the way for achieving development in all fields, especially in education. He added that strategies to develop education require consolidated efforts of civil society organizations, families, and official bodies and instilling an interest in culture and knowledge among children.
The Science Festivity aims to give science a presence in the society and an opportunity for asking questions, discussions and exploration to various ages. Through this event, visitors enjoy the experience of continuing education either with their family or friends or alone. It is the target of the PSC to transform the Science Festivity into a National Festival within the coming years.
