Wikimania 2008 Announces the Opening of Registration

The BA will host Wikimedia's fourth annual conference; Wikimania 2008, 17-19 July 2008, organized by the Wikimedia foundation. The Conference provides a venue for discussing various Wiki projects (of which Wikipedia is one), their possible evolution, and to discuss several related research papers and topics.
The Conference includes four different tracks; Wikimedia Communities; Free Knowledge; Technical Infrastructure; and the Scientific track.
Eminent speakers include Ahmed Tantawy, Technical Director of IBM in the Middle East and North Africa; Eliane Metni, Founding Director of the International Education Association; Tim Spalding, Founder and Lead Developer of LibraryThing; Eric M. Johnson, Team Leader for the Knowledge Management Action Team at the U.S. Department of State; and Usama Fayyad, Yahoo!'s Executive Vice President of Research and Strategic Data Solutions.
