The Arab Annual Reform Initiative (ARI) Conference at the BA

Alexandria— The BA is hosting the Arab Reform Initiative (ARI) Annual Conference, 7 - 8 May 2008, attended by a number of public and intellectual figures from Egypt and the Arab World.

During the Conference, the first annual initiative report on reform conditions in the Arab World, drafted by a research team from several Arab countries, will be launched based on field research conducted in eight Arab countries: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

The first day of the Conference includes two closed sessions by directors of research centers who are members of the initiative. The second day includes sessions discussing reform in the Arab World and the strategic vision of reform and pertaining proposals in this respect.

The Arab Reform Initiative (ARI) includes fifteen centers of the most prominent political research centers in the Arab world, working in conjunction with their counterparts from Europe and the United States of America.

The network includes research centers from several Arab countries, such as the BA Arab Reform Forum and Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies (ACPSS) from Egypt, which did not participate in drafting the first annual report of the Arab Reform Initiative; King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies in Saudi Arabia; Center for Strategic Studies in Jordan; Sudanese Studies Centre in Sudan; Gulf Studies Center in Dubai; Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS); Center for Strategic and Future Studies in Kuwait; and Moroccan Center for Social Science Studies and Research. In addition to partners from England, France, Greece, Spain, and USA.
