BA Organizes Informal Education for Children Conference

The BA Children’s Library is organizing the Informal Education for Children Conference on 12-13 October 2015. This conference will revolve around several important topics such as children’s literature, storytelling, and edutainment. An elite group of speakers, writers, library science experts and distinguished professional from Egypt, Netherlands, USA, and England will be present. They will take part in the event to share their knowledge and expertise. This event is organized by the BA, in collaboration with Nahdet Masr, and Mr. Ilias Doxiadis.
The conference will focus on using literature and storytelling as teaching methods; the development of the “story” into cartoons and e-books; and innovative programs that aim to develop informal education in libraries civil communities, and other institutions that offer educational activities for children. The conference will also cover folk tales and folk literature from Egyptian heritage which represents the Egyptian identity, as it is utilized by public libraries to transfer traditional tales from one generation to another.
The conference will include research presentations, open discussions, a Mexican performance, educational and entertainment shows. There will also be an exhibition organized by the event sponsors to showcase their expertise, products, and services in the field of children’s informal education.
