The Ancient Egyptian Peasant in a Lecture at the BA

Posted on

Alexandria— Dr. Abdel Halim Nour El Din, Professor of Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics at the Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University, and BA Special Advisor, is delivering a lecture on Wednesday, 30 July 2008, entitled “The Ancient Egyptian Peasant”.

The lecture refers to the idiosyncratic nature of the Ancient Egyptian civilization, explaining how its foundation was laid on religious, political and economic bases. It depended, in its prosperous growth, on the output of agriculture which remained to be the country`s primal line of work.

We would like to point out that Egyptology page on the Library’s website will regretfully not be able to publish this month`s lecture due to some developments in the website; however, all lectures related to the archaeological cultural season will be available on the Library`s main website shortly.

The lecture begins at 11 a.m. at the BA Auditorium.
