The BA Issues a Catalogue on the Egyptian People’s Assembly

Alexandria— The BA issued a catalogue documenting the history of the Egyptian People’s Assembly and depicting the parliamentary life in Egypt. The Catalogue was edited by the late Yunan Labib Rizk, and is part of Egypt’s Modern History series.

Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, and Dr. Ahmed Fathi Sorour, President of the People’s Assembly, wrote the forward of the catalogue, which was edited and prepared by Dr. Khaled Azab, Mahmoud Ezzat and Ahmed Taher.

Samy Mehran, Secretary General of the People’s Assembly; Sawsan El-Hennawy, Chairman of the Information Committee at People’s Assembly, Olfat Mohammed Ibrahim Saleh, Secretariat of the People’s Assembly, and Assem El-Gendy, Director of the People’s Assembly Information Center revised the catalogue.

The catalogue lies in 7 chapters describing the historical evolution of the Egyptian parliament, its premises, organizational structure, membership, jurisdiction, sessions, auditing bodies. The catalogue also includes 4 important annexes containing statistics on the People’s Assembly published for the first time.
