The BA Documents Political Assassinations within the ‘Memory of Modern Egypt’ Digital Project

The issues of political assassinations are considered one of the problems, from which the Egyptian society has suffered. Egypt has a history of assassinations with different circumstances, events, and motives of the perpetrators.
Dr. Khaled Azab, Director, BA Media Department and supervisor of the ‘Memory of Modern Egypt’ digital project, stated that given the importance and significance of political assassinations, the BA devoted a section in ‘the Memory of Modern Egypt’ website to document the best known cases of political assassinations witnessed by the Egyptian society beginning from the first assassination in the modern history of Egypt in 1910, when late Prime Minister Boutros Ghali Pasha was killed, and up till the assassination of the late President Muhammad Anwar Al Sadat on 6 October 1981.
It is worth mentioning that the “Memory of Modern Egypt” is a definitive digital repository of materials documenting Egypt’s rich modern history, during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, through photographs, films, stamps, coins, newspapers, magazines, documents, and historic studies that were drafted specifically for the Project. The Memory is a joint endeavor between the BA International School of Information Science (ISIS) in charge of the technical part, and the BA Special Projects Department that is in charge of the scientific content.
