The BA and the USAID Sign a Memorandum of Understanding for Developing Alex FM

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, and Mr. Joe Rafberg, Director of the USAID Media Development Program (MDP), signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Development of Alex FM radio station, on Wednesday, 3 December 2008 at the BA with the presence of Dr. Khaled Azab, Director of the BA Media Department.
The Memorandum aims to build training capacity in Egypt to promote professional development among mid-career media professionals, emerging journalists and media managers; improve the management and economic viability of Egyptian print broadcast sectors; strength the professionalism and organizational capacity of the local media; and finally improve the enabling environment for a professional, objective and economically viable media in Egypt.
