Yerma in a Play Reading at the BA

Posted on

Alexandria— The Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly play reading in English on Wednesday, 10 June 2009. Participants will read Yerma by Federico García Lorca.

Written in 1934, Yerma is the story of a woman slowly driven mad by her inability to understand why she cannot have a child. Yerma’s desperation is produced by the social norms of her culture, and the play is a critique of such norms.

The session starts at 16:00 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
