Omar Samra Speaks about “The Road to the Seven Summits” in a Seminar at the BA

Alexandria— Omar Samra , the first Egyptian to climb Mount Everest, will be a guest speaker at the Seminar held by the Dialogue Forum on Saturday 20 June 2009, entitled “ The Road to the Seven Summits”.

Samra had his first mountain-climbing experience in Switzerland when he was 16 years old. In 2002, he cycled around the world in 370 adventure-filled days, during which he climbed several mountains. Samra has since climbed extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe and America; among the mountains he climbed are Chopicalqui in Peru and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. In 2007, he became the first Egyptian and second Arab to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain: Mount Everest. Samra has been to more than 35 countries and has written in Arabic and English about his numerous travels.

The Seminar will start at 19:00 hrs. at the BACC Lectures Hall.
