The Third Phase of the Big Read Project: The Grapes of Wrath

Alexandria—The BA Library Sector announces the launch of the third phase of the Big Read: Egypt/US Project, focusing on the novel The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.
Activities start on Thursday, 12 November 2009, by a screening of the film, script by Nunnally Johnson, produced by Darryl F. Zanuck, directed by John Ford, starring Henry Fonda and Russell Simpson. The film is introduced by Ahmed Nabil, BA Arts Center Film Program Coordinator.
The Big Read is a cultural project including various events around a selected novel. The first phase of the project witnessed several activities around the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, while the second phase focused on the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
Film screening of The Grapes of Wrath (1940) starts at the BA Auditorium at 7:00 pm.
