Serageldin Lectures at Stanford University

Alexandria—Stanford University held a special event on Wednesday, 2 December 2009, in honor of Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria in its campus in California, the United States.

Serageldin gave two talks: “The New Library of Alexandria: A Beacon of Knowledge” and “For a Better Dialogue Between the West and Muslim”. The event was attended by staff, alumni and students, and was also open to the general public.

Opening its doors in 1891, Stanford University is recognized as one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions in the world. It has partnered with the BA in the digitization of Arabic-language books.
