Celebrating Late Poet Amal Donkol at the BA

Alexandria— The BA Celebrates on Sunday, 10 January 2010, the 70th birthday of the late Poet Amal Donkol (1940- 1983). The Celebration features a 30-minute documentary movie about Donkol screened during the opening ceremony.
Several Egyptian poets will participate in the Celebration, including renowned Poets Ahmed Abd El-Moaty Hegazy and Foad Taman, in addition to Dr. Ahmed Darwish. A number of intellectuals and young poets will give their testimonies about Amal Donkol.
A Poetry Evening will also be held featuring readings of Donkol’s poetry, as well as some of his poetry composed and performed by the BA Orchestra.
The Ceremony starts at 4:00 pm, at the BA Auditorium.
