Mediterranean Architectural Identity Conference at the BA

Alexandria—The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex-Med), in cooperation with the Union of Mediterranean Architects (UMAR) and under the auspices of the Society of Egyptian Architects (SEA) organizes a Conference entitled “Mediterranean Architectural Identity” from 4 to 6 March 2010.
Participants from 17 countries and representatives from UMAR national sections will take part in this Conference. They will discuss various issues including the value of urban heritage in the Mediterranean, architectural heritage and tourism, and contemporary planning.
Speakers in the Opening Ceremony include HE. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria; Mr. Seif Allah Alnaga, SEA President; and Mr. Omar Farkhany, UMAR President.
