Serageldin Gives a Keynote Speech at the Fulbright Commission

Invited by the Fulbright Commission in Egypt to be the sole keynote speaker at the Commission’s Regional Conference on Science and Technology in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, gave a presentation on “Promoting Greater Engagement in Science and Technology” on 15 March 2010.
The commission’s invitation to Serageldin comes with high esteem of his tireless efforts in nourishing and disseminating knowledge in Egypt. The conference was attended by senior officials from the US Department of State together with representatives from Fulbright commission and American embassies throughout the region.
As part of a worldwide program, the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt is a commission for educational and cultural exchange between the USA and Egypt. Established in 1949, its aim is to cultivate mutual understanding through educational exchange programs.
