Ecrire la Méditerranée in a Roundtable Discussion at the BA

On the occasion of the celebration of the French donation of 500,000 books offered by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BNF), the BA, in cooperation with the French Embassy and the French Cultural Center, organizes a roundtable discussion entitled “Ecrire la Méditerranée” on 10 and 11 April 2010.
The event is held under the auspices of H.E. Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, Chair of the BA Board of Trustees (BOT). The discussion is held in French about the role of intellectuals, their view point in the framework of the Mediterranean, and their vision of the impact of identity on culture.
The discussion is attended by 14 eminent participants from Egypt, France and the Mediterranean region, representing 9 countries, namely: Serge Moati (France/ Tunisia), Alexandre Najjar (Lebanon), Robert Solé (France/ Egypt), Vénus Khoury Ghata (Lebanon), Paula Jacques (France/ Egypt), Kebir Ammi (Moracco), Waciny Laredji (Algeria), Nedim Gurcel (Turkey), Leila Marounane (Algeria), Takis Theodoropoulos (Greece), Antonio Tabucchi (Italy), Khaled El-Khamissi (Egypt) and Cherif El-Choubachi (Egypt).
The Roundtable is moderated by Olivier Poivre d’Arvor, Director of the French Cultural Organization. The two Cultural Ministries of France and Egypt, Farouk Hosny and Fréderic Mitterand are invited, in addition to the Director of the BNF, members of the BOT and other distinguished figures from Egypt and France.
