Midsummer Night’s Dream in a Play Reading at the BA
Posted on
The Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly play reading in Arabic on Wednesday, 28 April 2010. Participants will read Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.
The play exposes a number of intertwining romantic relationships in a place ruled by strict Athenian Law. The play is one of Shakespeare’s most famous and imaginative comedies. It presents an unjust law by which a father can request to end his daughter’s life. The most interesting part of the play is when Puck, the jester, causes the Fairy Queen to fall in love with a poor weaver who has a donkey’s head, and the charmed Queen treats the weaver like a nobleman and orders four fairies to wait on him.
The session starts at 16:00 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
