“The Legal and Economic Aspects of the Development of Seaborne Trade in the Euro-Med Region” Conference at the BA

The World Bank Public Information Center (PIC)- the BA Depository Library, and the Arab Society for Commercial and Maritime Law (ASCML), co-organize a conference entitled “The Legal and Economic Aspects of the Development of Seaborne Trade in the Euro-Med Region” on 29 and 30 May 2010.
Scholars and practitioners, economists and lawyers, of the Euro-Med region meet to discuss matters of the development of their region's seaborne trade. This will include matters related to the liberalization of Euro-Med seaborne trade.
The conference is held on the occasion of the establishment of the Free Trade Area for Euro-Med based on the Barcelona Process and the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP).The year 2010 witnessed changes in economics and law of seaborne trade. For the whole world, it is the healing phase after the world financial crisis and the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG)— the world constitution of international sale and the backbone of international trade.
