The Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly play reading in French on Wednesday, 4 August 2010. Participants will read La Jeune Fille Violaine (The Young Girl Violaine) by Paul Claudel.
The play narrates the story of Violaine, a nice girl living in the countryside with her family, and getting ready to get married to the well off Jacquin Uri. However, the sudden departure of her father changes everything, when her envious sister tries to win her fiancé. Vilaine loses her eye sight when her sister throws sand in her eyes, and decides to leave and face her destiny alone.
The session starts at 16:00 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
