Map Club at the BA

The BA Map Library organizes on Monday 3 October 2011, the first event entitled the Map Club, which will be a monthly forum for all students, professors and specialists interested in Cartography and Geographic Information System (GIS).

The Map Club features geography-related activities, PowerPoint presentations, lectures and discussions, in addition to orientation sessions on the Map Library and its collection. It aims to promote knowledge and expertise among individuals and organizations in Cartography and Geographic Information System (GIS), as well as highlighting the scientific output and cultural movements in these fields. The meeting will also include a lecture by Siham Hassan Shahawy; Geography Subject Supervisor in Alexandria, entitled “Teaching Geography for Middle and High Schools: Reality versus Future Expectations”.

The event starts at 4.30 pm at the BACC Multipurpose Hall. An Orientation to participants on the Map Library will start at 3.30 pm, and the gathering will be at the BA Main Entrance.

Participants should register their names at the Map Library Information Desk. Priority is given to early registration.
