Writer Gamil Ali Hamdy’s Book Donation to the BA

The BA Donation and Exchange Unit received the personal library of the late writer Gamil Ali Hamdy, who worked as Senior Under-Secretary at the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology. The donation was presented by his daughter, Hanya Gamil, at his home in Cairo.

The BA receives periodically a large number of donations from individuals and governmental institutions, in Egypt and abroad, in order to develop its collection as part of its aim to be a hub for the production and dissemination of knowledge.

The donation comprised of a vast collection of books written by Mr. Hamdy, including those which offered basic educational information for children, in addition to his writings that tackled environmental and cultural subjects. Mr. Hamdy was one of the writers who were concerned with developing the skills of children and enriching their knowledge in a simple scientific way.

Among the most important books written by Gamil Ali Hamdy are Regional Environmental Pollution, Biodiversity, The Sun .. Our Friend, Birds Clean the Village, etc. The donation also included a number of valuable books in artistic, cultural and historical fields, as well as books on local and international museums and archaeology.
