The BA Organizes "Islamic Cairo in the Photographic Archive" Seminar

The BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies organizes a seminar entitled “Islamic Cairo in the Photographic Archive: Between Cairo and London” on Wednesday, 19 February 2020, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, in the Auditorium (BA Main Entrance).

The seminar will be delivered by Dr. Omneya Abdel Bar, Researcher at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, who will discuss the photo archive of Professor Creswell, one of the pioneering researchers in Islamic architecture.

The seminar will be also delivered by Ms. Ella Ravilious, Researcher and Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, who will talk about the history of Cairo in the photographic archive of the Victoria and Albert Museum; a source that is highly valuable in the study of the civilization and archaeology of Islamic Egypt.
