As part of the cultural events of the 16th round of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Book Fair, the BA Writing and Scripts Center organizes a webinar titled “Gebel El-Silsila: New Visions on Inscriptions and Modern Discoveries”. It is delivered by Dr. Mo’men Saad Mohammed, Member of the Swedish mission at Gebel El-Silsila, and Head of the Archaeological Unit at Luxor International Airport (Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities).

The event will be broadcast on Saturday, 21 August 2021, at 7:00 pm, through the Writing and Scripts Center’s Facebook page:

The webinar reviews some of the work conducted by the Swedish mission, led by Dr. Maria Nilsson, which considerably added to the history of Gebel El-Silsila that extends on both sides of the Nile, between Edfu and Kom Ombo. It also aims to explore several previously unknown prehistoric sites, shed light on the process of inscription replication, and uncover new pavilions and Nile paintings that were studied and published by Dr. Mo’men Saad as part of his PhD thesis.
