“The Remaining Evidence of the Andalusian Civilization” in a Seminar at the BA

The BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies, in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes, organizes a seminar entitled “The Remaining Evidence of the Andalusian Civilization” on Sunday, 23 October 2022.

Participants in this seminar include Dr. Juan Castilla Brazales, former Director of the School of Arabic Studies in Granada and Professor at the Superior Council for Scientific Research in Spain; Dr. Mohamed El-Gamal, Supervisor of the BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies; and Dr. Hossam El-Abbadi, Professor at Alexandria University.

The seminar tackles several topics, including the urban and cultural heritage in the Andalusian cities of Córdoba, Seville, Toledo and Granada, the Islamic architecture in Andalusia and its impact on the architecture of Morocco and Egypt, and the Granada style in Andalusian architecture and its enduring influence on Spanish architecture until the nineteenth century.

The seminar takes place on Sunday, 23 October 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, in the BACC Delegates Hall. It will also be held at Sinnari House in Cairo, on Sunday, 30 October 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
