Virtual Meeting of the TWAS Young Arab Affiliate Program

Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, inaugurated, on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, the annual meeting of the Arab Regional Partner for The World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS) Young Arab Affiliate Program, which was held virtually, in the presence of Prof. Sabah Al-Momin, Vice President of TWAS-AREP, and H.E. Prof. Adel El-Beltagy, former Minister of Egypt’s Agriculture and Land Reclamation, in addition to a number of scientists, university professors, members of the Academy, and young affiliate researchers from various Arab countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Libya, Sudan, Tunisia, Kuwait, and Oman.
The meeting featured a detailed explanation of the activities presented by the Arab Regional Partner over the past year, and an outline of the action plan until the end of 2024. The meeting concluded with a lengthy open discussion between the Academy members and affiliate researchers, which included certain ideas that should help support young Arab researchers in the coming period.
