A Dialogue Session for Children and Young People on Artificial Intelligence at the BA

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina held this morning a dialogue session for children and young people on artificial intelligence, in cooperation with the Arab Council for Childhood and Development and the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND). The event was attended by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Her Highness Princess Sora bint Saud bin Saad Al Saud, Vice-Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Ahyaha Foundation; Prof. Hassan Al-Bilawi, Secretary General of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development; Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University; and Dr. Yousry El-Gamal, former Minister of Education. Other participants included Dr. Marwa El-Wakeel, Head of the BA Academic Research Sector, together with members of the Egyptian Parliament and Senate and deans and professors from Alexandria University.
In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Zayed said that the new generation is more connected to artificial intelligence and therefore must focus on knowledge, innovation, and creativity for a new society.
The session included members of the Alexandria Sea Scout aged 11-16, and was moderated by Dr. Ahmed Youssef, lecturer in computer science at the Faculty of Education, Helwan University, as they discussed the concept of artificial intelligence, its uses, and their experiences in dealing with it.
Dr. Zayed met this morning Her Highness Princess Sora bint Saud bin Saad Al Saud, Vice-Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Ahyaha Foundation. The Princess toured the Library and visited the Main Reading Area, the Children and Young People's Libraries, the Special Needs Department, and the Taha Hussein Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She also visited the Library museums and attended the Culturama show.
It is worth noting that Dr. Ahmed Zayed presented Her Highness Princess Sura bint Saud with the Library Shield, in recognition of her development and humanitarian efforts.
