Workshop: “Innovation and Technology: Towards Sustainable Development in the Arab Region”

The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), in cooperation with the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries’ Arab Regional Partner (TWAS-AREP), organized a hybrid workshop entitled "Innovation and Technology: Towards Sustainable Development in the Arab Region", on 26 and 27 November 2024. The workshop was part of a training program for young Arab scientists, which aimed to develop the skills of young researchers and provide them with knowledge that supports their scientific and research progress, thus enhancing their chances of achieving their career goals in the fields of natural and applied sciences.
The workshop examined new dimensions of innovation and modern technology in the process of sustainable development in the Arab world, highlighting vital sectors such as the environment, agriculture, energy, health, and technology. It targeted master's and doctoral students, as well as researchers with doctoral degrees in the fields of natural and applied sciences.
The workshop hosted a group of experts, academics, and specialized professionals.
Speakers highlighted the leading modern technologies and innovative practices, in addition to the innovative technological models that support the process of sustainable development in the Arab region.
The event featured 51 participants from different Arab countries, 28 of whom participated online and 23 attended in person (Egyptians and Arab refugees residing in Egypt).
