The BA has recently published Tariq El-Harrir (The Silk Road) by Ashraf Abu El-Yazeed within a project held in collaboration with several international entities and has featured Samarkand.

This 220-pages Pictured Encyclopedia is divided into 3 sections: the first deals with 374 cities on the silk road; the second tackles different arts forms including religions, literatures, geography, history and life styles; while the third section of the encyclopedia is devoted to different kingdoms and celebrities in the silk road over around 16 centuries.

It is worth mentioning that “the silk road” is a term used to refer to the road taken by different trade convoys from and to China in the Far East to the heart of Europe.
