Dr. Ismail Serageldin meets the Press

Alexandria, 1 March 2005—Within the series of meetings that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) organizes with specialists in scientific and literary fields, the Media Department at BA organized a specialized meeting for the press, 25-26 February 2005, with Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in attendance. The meeting included representatives from different Egyptian newspapers, magazines and television channels and other media outlets.
During the meeting, Dr. Serageldin spoke of a number of important topics that BA and the press are concerned about, including the reform in Egypt and the Arab world, water issues, the Egyptian economy, as well as scientific research in Egypt and the cultural role of BA.
The members of the press and media also toured BA and its affiliated museums and exhibitions, in addition to attending the Culturama show and a Planetarium show.
