German donation of books and a musical instrument

Alexandria, 7 March 2005—H.E. Martin Kobler, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Egypt, and Mr. Stephan Winkler, Representative of the Goethe-Institute in Alexandria, visited the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) on 7 March 2005. During the visit, they donated BA a collection of the German Research Association’s books in various fields: Arabic philosophy, literature and language; and theology, in addition to a Contrabass, the largest and lowest member of the violin family.
During the visit, the members of the delegation toured BA and were introduced to the services it provides to its visitors as well as its affiliated museums, exhibitions and research centers.
