Alexandria, 8 March 2005—On the occasion of the Second Reform Conference, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Arts Center, in collaboration with the Arab Reform Forum, is organizing a music concert for Al Nour Wal Amal Orchestra, 14 March 2005, in the BA Conference Center.
Al Nour Wal Amal Association is aimed at the education and rehabilitation of blind girls and young women, enabling them to earn their living as integrated members of society. The rehabilitation center contains carpet, straw, stocking, knitting and plastic manufacturing sections. This is in addition to a music institute and a social service bureau. The Music Institute aims to introduce the girls to an art form that many blind people have excelled in, and that provides them with a creative outlet to express their emotions.
The association is participating in the conference as a civil society organization, presenting a successful Arab experiment.
