Lecture: The regulation and management of traffic and transportation

Alexandria, 25 August 2005—The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is organizing a lecture, 27 August, entitled “The regulation and management of traffic and transportation”. The lecture is within the framework of the Center’s training program on modern trends in developing education and environmental sustainability.
The lecture features Professor Saad El-Din Ashmawy, Former Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Al-Azhar University, and international expert in traffic management. Professor Ashmawy will shed light on the problems concerning traffic engineering and transport planning in cities and how to streamline traffic. In addition, he will speak about the economic return of traffic planning.
The lecture will also feature Mrs. Suzette El-Reidy, from the Social Fund for Development, who will discuss microfinance and its role in promoting youth employment. Mrs. El-Reidy will also shed light on the importance of youth skill development during school and university to promote their entry into the job market.
The lecture begins at 5 pm in the Oriental Restaurant of the BA Conference Center.
