Celebrating the Arabic Calligraphy Day

Alexandria, 16 November 2005— The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Calligraphy Center, in collaboration with Mohamed Ibrahim Calligraphy School, is organizing a seminar honoring Arabic Calligraphy, on the occasion of the foundation of Mohamed Ibrahim Calligraphy School in November 1936, on 17 November 2005.
The seminar will be inaugurated by Professor Abdelhalim Nureldin, Director of BA Calligraphy Center; and chaired by the artist Mohamed Rotail, Head of BA Arabic Calligraphy Unit and Deputy Director and co-founder of Mohamed Ibrahim Calligraphy School.
The seminar brings together professors and students from Alexandria University and Mohamed Ibrahim Calligraphy School, as well as the press, calligraphy artists, and people interested in calligraphy.
There will be an exhibition accompanying the seminar displaying works of Arabic calligraphy by artists from the Mohamed Ibrahim Calligraphy School.
The seminar will take place at the BA Conference Center at 6:00 pm.
