Lecture on African and the Arab world

Alexandria, 29 December 2005— The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing a presentation on “Afrabia: Is Africa merging with the Arab world?” by the senior scholar in Africana Studies, Ibn Khaldun, Islamic and Social Sciences as well as Politics Science, Professor Ali Mazrui. The presentation takes place on 3 January 2006, at 4:00 pm, Middle Hall, Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center.
Ali Mazrui, born in Mombassa, Kenya, 1933, is now Albert Schweitzer Professor in the Humanities and Director of the Institute of Global Cultural Studies at Binghamton University, State University of New York.
He wrote more than twenty books, which include Towards a Pax Africana (1967), and The Political Sociology of the English Language (1975). Dr. Mazrui has also written for magazines and newspapers.
