Flight Festivities

Posted on

Alexandria 8 January 2006—The first powered flight took place less than a century ago and lasted only twelve seconds. Now planes can travel faster than the speed of sound, and helicopters can hover in the air without moving.

Have you ever wondered about flying, its history, how the idea was conceived and how it developed … how planes fly and how they are controlled … what the different kinds are?

If you have the craving to know the answers for all these questions and more, we invite you to join the Flight Festivity, which is organized by the Planetarium Science Center on Thursday, 26 January 2006.

Festivity Program:
10:00-11:30 Lecture by pilot/engineer Mohamed El Shazly in the Middle Hall
11:45-13:00 Flight Exhibition in the Conference Hall
13:15-14:15 Workshop for students and adults in the West Hall
14:30-15:30 Open Air activities in the BA Plaza
