Artistic and Literary Donations from Qatar to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Alexandria, 6 February 2006—The BA received a valuable donation from Qatar presented by Mr. Abdullah El- Ansary, Director of Qatari General Libraries Administration and Director of the Qatari Book Fair. The donation included a variety of books, some of which are introductory pamphlets, such as Qatari Thesis Guide, Qatari Bibliography Guide issued during the past six years, as well as literary books in poetry and literature by Hessa Al-Awady, Imam Mostafa, Abdel-Moen Ebara, and Abdel Rahman Al-Manaay. The donated books ranged from short stories to literary novels while some tackled the Qatari Plastic Art and its pioneer Artist Hassan El-Molla.
Dr. Sohair Wastawy, Head of the Library Sector, stated that the donation is part of a series of donations given lately by different Arabic countries to the BA and added that the Qatari donation will certainly enrich the BA collection.
