Theatrical and Cinematic festivals at the BA in February

Alexandria, 6 February 2006—The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center is organizing a special program during the month of February. To initiate the month, The 3rd Edition of the Creative Forum for Independent Theatre Groups, which is made up of several Euro-Mediterranean groups, was inaugurated, alongside with The Second EU Film Festival, screening films in tandem with the Cairo Opera House.
The program also features a number of concerts among which are; A Sami Yusuf concert, in collaboration with the British embassy on 12 February; Valentine"s Day musical concert, on 13 February; on 17 February, the Culture Palace Arabic Choir conducted by Mahmoud Abouzaid will be performing; and for the first time on stage, the Modern Music Oriental Fusion will be presenting, on 25 February.
As for theatrical performances, the Arts Center presents the Captives (the Prisoners), written and directed by Lenin EL Ramly, on 18 February. An exhibition by the artist Jean Claude Golvin will be taking place from 23 February till 26 March, at the Library Entrance.
