Recommendations of the Reform Conference and Handing Out Dr. Adel Abu Zahra’s Prize in the Closing Session

Alexandria— the proceedings of the Third Reform Conference were concluded on 3 March 2006. In the closing session, Dr. Ismail Serageldin declared the names of the civil societies awarded Dr. Adel Abu Zahra’s prize in environment preservation, women empowerment, freedom of expression, artistic creativity.
Dr. Serageldin called the conference participants to register their names in the form prepared by the BA to call for establishing an international organization for transparency in the Arab World through an agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to set up a branch of Transparency International aiming at fighting corruption and ensuring transparency in the process of decision making in public, private, and civil sectors.
Dr. Serageldin called upon the Moderators of the different conference theme panels to submit the recommendation of the participants on women empowerment, environment, media, human rights, transparency, microfinance, and youth employment.
