In keeping with the BA’s interest in the translation movement, the BA Manuscripts Center has published Morisco Manuscript Heritage, translated and commented on by researcher Mohamed Abd el-Samei. The book comprises a selection of translated researches (Spanish to Arabic) that highlight an important period in Arab and Islamic heritage, known as the Morisco era. This era was named after the Moriscos— the Andalusian peoples who settled in the Iberian peninsula from 1492 after the fall of the last Islamic kingdom (Grenada) until 1609 when they were exiled.
