This Culturama will trace the history of the University of Cairo through a hundred years, from 1908 until 2008. The show will present the timeline that begins with the intellectual renaissance movement leading to the construction of the university and its inauguration in 1908.The University of Cairo is the second oldest Egyptian university and the third in the Arab region after Al-Azhar University and the University of al-Qarawiyyin. Its faculties were established during the reign of Mohamed Ali in 1827, such as the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine.The culturama will be accompanied by the commentary of Mahmoud Sadek, Senior Library Science and Information Specialist at Cairo University.
