This lecture will cover the excavations carried out by the German Archaeological Institute in Cairo and the Swiss Institute for Architecture and Archaeological Research on Ancient Egypt on Elephantine Island in Aswan. The excavations mainly concentrated on the study of the temples of Khnum and Satet, including their surroundings, which portray the daily lives of the people who lived in the excavated structures and what they left behind.
