The lecture will tackle designing and manufacturing furniture using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies; methods of physical modeling through Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and the main components of the digital control system; the major tools and techniques that led to a quantum leap in the quality of digital production and fabrication; the advantages of these techniques in manufacturing furniture and lightweight construction units; and some of the most commonly used materials and digital fabrication methods in interior design, with a special focus on the functional and creative aspects of the designs.
