Preparation of Paper for Calligraphy

Alexandria — As part of Calligraphy Center’s cultural lectures, the center is organizing on Wednesday, 26 July 2006, a workshop on Preparation of Paper by Ahmed Fares, Calligrapher at the Plastic Art Sector, Ministry of Culture. In the seminar, Ahmed Fares will explain practically to the audience the process of Taqhir el Waraq (preparation of paper) for Calligraphy paintings. The preparation of paper facilitates the writing process and lets the pen move smoothly on the paper. The seminar is chaired by Mohamed Roteil and attended by students and professors from Mohamed Ibrahim Association for Arabic Calligraphy, Faculty of Fine Arts, and other colleges in Alexandria .
The workshop will start at 12:00 hrs at the BA Auditorium.
