Alexandria— The BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC), in cooperation with Saint-Marc College in Alexandria and the French Cultural Center of Alexandria, with the support of the Ministry of Education, will organize on Wednesday, 18 April 2007, a three-day Science Festivity.

The Science Festivity will be a regular annual event organized by the PSC. Every year the Festivity will have a special theme and the theme for the year 2007 will be "Health and Environment". Eng. Hoda El-Mikaty, Director (PSC), stated that many children find Science dull and unexciting, and they tend to lose interest in pursuing a career in science. She added that the perception that most children have of science is negative, in the sense that it is not accessible or understandable. The Science Festivity will be a special occasion that aims to change this attitude. The public will be introduced to scientific facts in an interactive entertaining manner.

The Festivity will include lectures and workshops on Health and Environment, participated by school students. The science shows or experiments will be displayed on stands as a Science Village, where the public can go from one stand to another trying out experiments by themselves.
