The BA Center for Calligraphy Studies participated in the 7th International Forum of Islamic Arts in Kuwait at the invitation of the Kuwait Islamic Arts Center‏ on the occasion of the selection of Kuwait as the Capital of Islamic culture in 2016 and in appreciation of the BA enlightening role in the Arab region.

The BA Center for Calligraphy Studies participated in the forum with a selection of the most important Arabic books, resource, and academic material containing detailed explanation, analysis and studies of Islamic calligraphy ornamentations. Numerous artists and researchers from specializing in Islamic Arts came from around the world to take part in this event, which was held under the aegis of the Kuwaiti Prime Minister. The Forum included many events, activities, and workshops designed specifically for this occasion which coincides with this year’s Independence celebrations in Kuwait.

The BA participation in the Forum comes as a result of its continued cooperation with the Kuwait Islamic Arts Center. Both institutions organized an exhibition showcasing the development of the calligraphy of the Holy Quran, shedding light on the value of art in Islamic culture through the ages, and displaying the role of calligraphy as a means of communication between different nations around the world.

The International Forum of Islamic Arts in Kuwait is a biannual event organized by the Kuwait Islamic Arts Center.
