Posted on

The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) and the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries' Arab Regional Partner (TWAS-AREP) organize a regional workshop on science diplomacy for the Arab region, from 24 to 26 October 2023, at 10:00 am, in the BACC Delegates Hall.

The concept of "science diplomacy" reflects the use of scientific cooperation between countries to address common problems facing humanity and build international partnerships based on scientific knowledge, as the biggest challenges facing the world today are challenges of an international nature, whether they are related to climate change or public health, such as fighting diseases, viruses, etc.

This workshop aims to discuss the concept of "public diplomacy" in the Arab region and the role it plays in addressing local and regional issues such as climate change, the food crisis, scientific research issues, among others. This can be achieved by presenting the scientific aspects related to this concept, and discussing the importance of close collaboration between scientists, especially young scientists, decision-makers and diplomats, as well as the importance of concerted efforts exerted through the cooperation with various local, international and regional institutions and sectors.
