The Einstein in Egypt conference closes

Alexandria, 20 September 2005—The Einstein in Egypt conference, organized by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) within the year 2005’s celebration of physics, came to a close on Tuesday, 20 September. The discussions revolved around Egyptian scientists’ contributions to relativity and to the unified field theory. This second Einstein conference was also partially devoted to analyzing the work and personality of Albert Einstein as well as shedding light on salient aspects of modern physics connected to the unification of quantum mechanics and general relativity.
The BA also organized an exhibition, within the framework of the Einstein Symposium, comprising rare photos and original copies of important documents that shed light on Einstein’s personal life and scientific achievements. The exhibition is planned to resume until 24 November, 2005. In addition, a closed children’s workshop was held, where children were given the opportunity to better understand Einstein’s theories through several experiments.
